2011 Aston Martin V8 Vantage N420

The Vantage N420 draws inspiration from the company’s experiences at the Nürburgring 24-hour race. In the 2006 running of the annual Nürburgring endurance classic amongst a field of mostly motorsport homologated cars, Aston Martin entered a near-standard, road-registered V8 Vantage. Driven by a team of employees, including Aston Martin’s CEO, Dr Ulrich Bez, the Aston Martin V8 Vantage – named ‘Rose’ by the team – finished 4th in class and 24th overall from a field of more than 200 specialised racing cars.
A generous standard specification and some unique options ensure the special edition Vantage N420 is both exclusive and distinctive, while also offering a 27kg weight saving – achieved through the application of carbon fibre – over the standard Aston Martin V8 Vantage.
On the outside, wider sills combine perfectly with a carbon fibre splitter, side strakes and diffuser, while bold 10-spoke diamond turned alloy wheels complete with gloss black finish, black mesh vents and ‘Graphitic’ tailpipe finishers complete the co-ordinated look. Read more
2010 Edo Competition Aston Martin DB9 to DBS Program
The DB9 had been turned into a DBS. Rather than just performing cosmetic changes, edo competition had also refined the mechanicals and customized the car according to the wishes of its owner. This high-performance exhaust system which was specially developed for the DB9/DBS also helps the engine produce more power and torque. A programmable control unit monitors exhaust backpressure and opens 70 mm butterfly valves when the pressure exceeds a selected threshold. The exhaust is made from stainless steel and the chrome exhaust tips round off its classy appearance.
This not so trivial conversion involved replacing steel body panels with carbon fiber pieces and increasing the engine output from 470 to a staggering 550 horsepower. That’s why it will now do 320 km/h (199 mph) when the old car topped out at 295 km/h (183 mph). Its new 20 inch wheels and wider body contribute to a more muscular appearance, and numerous aerodynamic parts, such as a carbon fiber front skirt as well as a carbon fiber rear diffuser, underline the car’s sporting credentials.
