Nissan Nismo 370Z (2009) showroom in June 2009

The 2009 Nissan Nismo 370Z sneaked into the spotlight in New York, together with the generation 370Z roadster. Two vehicles unveiled during a webcast held by Nissan North America.

NISMO 370Z is built on a new Nissan Front Midship (FM) platform, which offers 4 wheel independent suspension. Nismo is supported by the 3.7l DOHC V6 aluminum engine block, fitting with Variable Valve Event and Lift Control (VVEL).

VVEL that works by optimizing intake valve open / close motion to allow air to enter the room at the time of optimal combustion. Thanks to both the engine and tweaks made to it, Nissan Nismo 370Z engine developing 370 horsepower at 7400 rpm and 276 lb.-ft. of torque at 5200 rpm.

V6 is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission with the Match function SynchroRev, features Nissan calls “the world’s first synchronized downshift rev matching manual transmission.” Function that allows the engine speed will be adjusted to the speed of the next tooth position, smoothing up / down shift.

There will be only one version of the Nismo 370Z coupe that will come in five exterior colors: Pearl White, Brilliant Silver, Magnetic Black, Red and Solid Platinum Graphite. The new coupe will be available in showrooms across the U.S. starting in June 2009, with prices that are still to be disclosed.
